7 KILLED in NASHVILLE

My turn: Nashville Christian School Shooting

It’s an unnatural thing to hurt an innocent. Even our criminal justice system acknowledges that within the penal system. You just don’t do that.

The reports of the Nashville shooting claim 6 were killed; what about the shooter. Don’t sugar coat this. They were shot too. Did something, broke in them to do such an unnatural thing. What drives someone to do that?

Audrey Hale has a story. A story that no one heard, that no one listened to. A story that if it continues to be untold, will be repeated.

There is an outpouring of love for the families survivors of the 6 but what about the 7th? They were a student at that school too, once upon a time. Was not God’s unconditional love pored out upon them and their family? Or deep in the south in the heartland of Christian, country and god bless America country was there judgement, condemnation and silent horrible pain. Was there a pain repeatedly inflicted from the environment occurring all around them?

No, it’s not a natural thing to shoot an innocent but until WE all begin to listen to their story, not the ones told by school reps or law enforcement officials or political opportunists, this will continue to happen.

Time to open The Red Door?

Why not? Why don’t WE review these events, WE build a more transparent narrative! One that includes ALL the victims. Audrey Hale has a story that needs to be heard. Maybe Audrey was victimized long before they ever put their hand on a gun. How much longer will WE sit silent without asking the right questions and be persistent in the WHOLE truth?

This will continue to happen until WE all begin to see the bigger picture, ask the deep er questions to that one in the mirror and of those framing a story with their own agendas.

7 killed in Nashville.

By no means am I suggesting the police did not do their job. They did. I am asking; why not take the time to unearth our own cruelty, our own pain and anger and judgment to find the broken pieces. Our pain is all connected too!

I am suggesting that we bring that pain forth, take a look at it without judgment and condemnation; at these deep rooted generational, cultural, familial and religious wounds that have been passed down from generation to generation. We have to admit parts of the whole picture instead of just 8 x 11 frame shots put together for various reasons and agendas.

I am suggesting we quit making up stories and pretend it’s all good. This is an opportunity to take a good look at this really rough, extremely painful place. This is the time to just take a look at what’s festering around us and within us.

Admit it. We have all been hurt in some way, to some degree and some more than others and yet no one heard our tears. How could they; we cannot hear the story of another over out own cries? Maybe we projected that pain out on someone else without realizing that we were really just trying to be heard. Listen to cries of that pain within you; don’t wait for someone else to hear you. If we choose to embrace that pain within ourselves we can begin the healing process.

We learn many things in a lifetime; maybe this is the time to learn more about pain — ours and those around us.
